Task 3B: Application
✧ Our task at this stage was to create a set of stationary and merchandise that best showcases our brand.
Application Draft Design #1
Namecard:
✧ Instead of normal sharp edge namecards, rounded corners were explored further as it aligns with the overall brand image of HUA HUA. The roundness signifies the organic and fluid form, as oppose to the rigid straight edges.

Letterhead:
✧ Taking a page out from the original patterns I've created in Task 02, I've placed them on the side to not over crowd the page.
Fig 2.2 Letterhead Draft Designs #1
Invoice:
✧ Similarly to the Letterhead design, the invoice designs utilised visual elements taken out from the patterns made.
Fig 2.3 Invoice Draft Designs #1
Envelope:
✧ 2 options were explored, brand patterns were utilised here to achieve a recognisable yet clean look.
Fig 2.4 Envelope Draft Designs #1
Stickers:
✧ The ideas of these stickers were born from the taglines, mood and visual elements of the brand.
Fig 2.5 Stickers Draft Designs #1
Loyalty Card:
✧ 3 options of the card were created to see which suits the brand more, personally I am leaning more towards the last design as it co-related back to the brand's namecard designs.

Tote Bag:
✧ New pattern & visual elements were created and implemented on the designs.

Wrapping Paper:
✧ The patterns were from Task 02 & the brand logo

UIUX:
✧ I had difficulty with the overall process of the UIUX design, but the attached are the 2 designs Ive came up with, one showcasing more of a visual feel and one more of using the patterns kind of feel

Social Media:
✧ I wanted to create a "+" like social media post formation, utilising visuals, taglines and stickers from the brand.

Application Amended Design
✧ After Ms Lilian's feedback, amendments were made accordingly:
Namecard:
✧ Ms suggested that I'd use 2 namecards, One for the general Business & One for the Founder (Me! :)

Stickers:
✧ The original draft stickers did not really reflect on the brand image, hence Ms Lilian suggested i utilise a more free and curvy lines to create them.

✧ With a specific idea of how HUA HUA's Shop should look like and went ahead to hunt for images that looks similar. Fig 4.1 was the perfect image of how HUA HUA ought to look like!

FEEDBACK
Week 09
TASK 3A
✧ The quote i've inserted can be made into an opening slide
✧ Positioning statement should have one liner to refer to who the target audience is and how HUA HUA differ from other competitors
✧ Target Audience could be separated into Geographic, Demographics and Behaviour
✧ Things missing from current slide: Brand purpose, Vision & Mission
✧ There is no need to include all items from task 2 into part 2 of the slide
✧ More visual references explorations were needed
✧ More visual references are needed: UIUX, Loyalty Card
Week 10
TASK 3B
✧ I've presented a few namecard ideas and Ms suggested I could use 2 of them, One for the business aspect and one for the founder's aspect
✧ I agree with what Ms Lilian pointed out for the letterhead, the other design with more of a scattering visual elements does not really work for the letterhead as it is distracting and complicated.
✧ The scattering visual elements design however, does suit for the invoice's design.
✧ As for the envelope, the brand logo should not be that big in front of the envelope as it is where one would place the sender and receiver's address, the 2nd design is better suit
✧ Stickers did not really match with the overall brand image as the shapes I've utilised are rigid. Ms suggested I explore more by adapting from the elements I've created
✧ Ms suggested I utilise all designs for tote bags & wrapping papers
✧ UIUX's second design was a bit messy, hard to read, design one is better
✧ Social Media is not really working, needs more explorations
Final Overall Feedback From Ms Lilian
The laying out of company information (email and website on the top of namecard) can be improved slightly to make hierarchy of information more coherent. Similarly, text for designation (founder) may be too large and creates unnecessary attention at the back of the card. However, there is still a good overall consistency throughout corporate stationery application design. Be careful how the brand logo has been dissected in tote bag 2 & 3 to form illustrative components as it may dilute the consistency of brand identity specifically for the brand logo.
REFLECTIONS
Experience
This task made everything felt surreal. The brand application part was a real fun to work on. Putting the designs into mockups were a great joy to behold as the ideas slowly come together into a sort of "real" sense.
Observations
A lot of things goes into creating a brand that the public normally dont see. A lot of researching on the intended target audiences, why your brand is special, what makes the brand differ from others and etc.
Findings
Truth to be told, I mostly mock my products manually as I think it is a waste of time to find the perfect mockup when I already have it in my mind how it will look like. This is also to test my skills in photoshop in creating a seamless mockup that is without any template.
